Silhouettes
Objective:
* Students will create a piece, that uses analogous colors in the background, and contains silhouettes in the shapes of trees and houses in the foreground.
*Students will learn the history of silhouettes, and look at some examples of artists that use them in their work
Materials:
18x12 piece of white paper
tissue paper
black paper
water and glue mixture
Paintbrushes

Process:
-Students will first learn about the history of silhouettes, teacher will check for understanding by questioning students.
- Teacher will then talk about analogous colors and show example of how to apply tissue paper to the white paper.
- Students will choose their analogous colors to work with and place torn pieces onto the white paper, then they will paint a glue and water mixture over top of it.
- After that they will set it aside to dry, and start to cut out their silhouettes
- Once their paper dries, they will glue their silhouettes on the paper.
